And was there an interesting story to go with his fishface name? I feel like I’m owed an interesting fish tale! lol

LOL! You crack me up. It’s an Indian name and I did ask the park host how to pronounce it and I was surprised that I was saying it correctly (usually I’m not)… sink-e-own. This beach is very remote, but very typical of our northern California coast, rugged and wild. The white sand beaches of Baywatch are way down the coast in southern California.

Hi BJ, Thanks for sharing your memories and your old photos (
link to flickr.com). I didn’t realize there were ever cabins up there, but it makes sense they would have been removed for the proposed damn that never was to be. Next time I make it up that way, I’ll have to look around and see if I can find the cabin footings. Ahh, it would be so grand to have a cabin relatively close like that to home, but seem like a million miles away from the city. Have a great Memorial Day holiday! - Solano County and Jepson Prairie Preserve
Thanks Carol!

I knew a young man once whose nickname was fishface. I was happy to see it was not his head on the fencepost, though it wouldn’t have really surprised me if it had been there!
